Burning taperGreetings from the Taper Club,

At the May 30 meeting it was decided to take up a discussion of our obligations and relevance. As secrecy is the first point, what is a secret? Not all agreed on what is and what is not a secret. It would seem that this has not been definitively defined for us. Is it therefore up to each individual to qualify the answer?

Next was a rather interesting discussion on "not w p p s etc. them.” Are we honoring this commitment? What does it say to a new initiate when he has completed his initiation that he is handed a printed copy of his proficiency requirement? Have we done such a good job of codifying the information that no person under the sun can figure it out? At one time Masons gathered to run an individual out of town for threatening to print the ritual, now we have the clear text available for a fee from the Grand Lodge. Did not realize that the Grand Lodge had its own Publication arm.

Our next meeting is scheduled for June 27th at Red & Jerry’s in the Fanatix room. It begins at 11:00 AM.

The Taper Club is an informal Masonic discussion group open to all Master Masons in good standing.

Fraternally,
James Robison
